I found a store (not online) selling fake designer handbags. How do I report them?
Would they go out of business? I won’t do it if thats the case, but its copyright infringement and a serious crime.
oops, they don’t ONLY sell these fake handbags, its not like without them they’d have nothing else.

No one likes a snitch.
It’ll take them a long time to get busted anyway, police have to have a search warrant and all. There are more serious crimes for them to worry about.

Only if they are selling and using the Designer label.
Imitations are not illegal.
There are no copyrights on fashions.
There are on the Brand name.
If they infringe on the name, a stiff fine and payments to the designer of all units sold.

First copyright infrigement is not a serious crime. Murder, rape, theft, stuff like that are serious crimes. Fake items are a trademark crime, not copyright crime. But only if the fake bags contain the labels of the true marker of the bags could it be an infringement of their trademark.
Second if you believe your trademark is getting infringed upon it is up to the owner of the trademark to prosecute. The police won’t do anything for you as this matter is a civil crime. The police only deal with criminal matters, things like murder, rape, theft, etc.
Now what can you do? You could call the company who’s trademark is being stolen, and report it to the company directly. If the choose to peruse the matter than it is their choice. I doubt they will do anything really.

You go to the store and talk to their manager and you say
Yes i want a refund on this FAKE handbag
And then they say Well how do you know its fake
Okay but im not going to say the whole conversation…
So just go to the store you bought the hand bag at
and tell the manager you want a refund
And don’t go to the police
Unless it was really expensive
and they said it was real.
But other then that don’t bring the police along in this

Are they selling the handbags as original?? This is the true crime I think if they are trying to pass them off as the real deal I think most people who are going to buy a knock-off LV can’t really afford to buy the real one and anyone who buys a a lv for $100 and think it’s real, well lets just say they really don’t know the brands and what they cost. Seriously if your trying to bust some little guy selling a few bags I think you should invest your time with crime watch or something else that can make a difference. I do think if they’re passing them off as real you should confront them on that….I think thats unfair to the consumer.
