im not entirely sure, but i think it is illegal. i heard of a local flea market in my area that had a vendor who was selling replica and knock off louis vuitton purses. the police raided the flea market and had her arrested and fined.

Trademark violations are illegal. If caught, you could get sued by the manufacturer for millions. You can’t use someone elses trade name or product and call it your own or sell it like it is a copy. Get real.

As far as I know there are sites out there that sell them all the time..The law is that you MUST STATE they are replicas and not try to sell as the real thing. It is illegal to represent them as real…like on the street…”hey you wanna buty a real Gucci at a great price?”…Busted…

It is very illegal. It’s called counterfeiting, the theft of someone else’s trademarks, ideas and products. Imagine yourself as a designer of a product, you worked to develop a product, invested millions of dollars in the business and the product, your developed a name and solid reputation and then investment began paying off, you are now making money from your idea, work and sacrifice. Now imagine someone else making a crappy coy of your product, slapping your name on it, and you don’t get a single penny from the copy and suddenly no one wants to buy your genuine item anymore because crappy copies are cheaper and they have flooded the market to the point where everyone thinks your real item is as crappy as the fake. The fake has cost you millions of dollars and destroyed everything you have worked for. Imagine going to a job where you work your butt off, and someone else takes your name and then your credit and your reward for the job and you get nothing. How does that feel?
It’s not legal to shop with fake money. It’s not acceptable to use a replica credit card that’s almost an exact duplicate of a real credit card. If that suddenly became big in your area would you suddenly start a counterfeit credit card business? Would you suddenly look into counterfeit cash company? How is counterfeit purses any different? And saying you are using a “replica” credit card does not make it acceptable or legal, any more than saying a bag is a “replica” is somehow magically making it legal. It’s counterfeiting, pure and simple.
Recently there were a series of raids carried out in Toronto on counterfeits, from importers to sellers, including a few of these purse party businesses. These people now face crippling fines and jail time. Are you willing to go to jail over the hot new thing?
